The Art of Rainbow Hawk
The site already has considerable work done on it, including a main building in place totaling 1,148.63 sq. meters, with 6 bedrooms (3 first floor and 3 second floor) which are 5 x 3.9 meters and each have bathrooms measuring 3.73 X 2.10 meters.
The kitchen (with a half bathroom) and dining room areas measuring 5X6 meters each. The main hall suitable for small events which is 6 X15 meters and a main salon that is 4.7 X 12 meters. The construction needs completion for interior finishing and stucco exterior, but the structure is a large two story building which can be added to.
All rooms except the bedrooms have 6 meter high ceilings.
It is already set up to run on solar energy with a battery bank in place, needing the panels.
Other structures are also in place, including a fairly complete 2 bedroom house that is 154 sq. meters (needs a new roof covering).
Several Palapas (palm thatched shade areas) are in place that total 270 sq. meters of shaded areas, one with a trailer home beneath it.
An orchard which includes mangos, papayas & plums is in place and producing. Other garden areas are also ready to go.
Various ponds exist and others are in place to catch water during rainy season.
The elevation is 500-600 meters above sea level as the land goes over a 100 meter hill which has several flat areas for needed uses and a quite adequate fresh water sources exist.
The existing permit for water use is 5,000 cubic meters per year. It is approximately 5-6 kilometers inland from the Pacific Ocean and 11 kilometers from the town of Todo Santos (8 kilometers from the coastal road)which is an agricutural and art community.
There are only 5 neighboring family ranchos in the immediate area and the Sierra de Laguna World Heritage Bio-Reserve (A UNESCO/United Nations program) abutts one side of the property.

We already have the equipment for satellite up-links so that communications and internet can be maintained at all times once we install the solar panels. All homes and community buildings will have access to this system, with WiFi available to visitors with mobile homes and laptops.
The dirt road in is in good shape but does cross arroyos which can cause it to be inaccessible for a few days at a time during rainly season (generally mid August - the beginning of October). As self sufficiency is the rule of the thumb for the Eco Village and we will have some road repair equipment that should be no problem and in any event 4 wheel drive vehicles would be adequate for transportation on all but a few days that the arroyos may be impassible.
